R.A. Long boys baseball team beat Selah to earn the opportunity to play in the Washington State 2A title game today against W.F. West High School (Chehalis). The Daily News recently featured a story regarding the disparity in student enrollment numbers between R.A. Long High School and Mark Morris High School (front page on April 28, 2010). This is an excellent article that starts to dig in to the widely held perception that "Mark Morris is a better school". We all know that isn't true.

Bluewater Comics Creator Visits RA Long

Darren Davis, creator of Blue Water, comics visited R.A. Long High School April 21, 2010. Davis spent the morning showing students how to create and sell comics. See The Daily News story here.

Next Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The R.A. Long High School Hall of Fame Committee has announced the next Induction Ceremony. It will be held Friday, March 18, 2011. This is a change from the previous late Fall inductions. The committee felt that a Spring ceremony would work better for the inductees and their families and friends as there would be little holiday travel.

RA Long Knowledge Bowl Qualifies for State Championships

The 2009-2010 RA Long High School Knowledge Bowl team has qualified for the state championships. As the Daily News article notes, this is an important achievement in a year in which reduced school budgets forced the Longview School District to eliminate funding for Knowledge Bowl.
