RAL Grad Delivered Lecture at WSU

We recently learned that RAL alumnus Paul Laufman ('56) delivered a graduate seminar lecture at Washington State University (WSU) on Thursday, December 2, 2010. Laufman's lecture was entitled "Rocket Propulsion: Space Policy and its Entrepreneurial Impact." Laufman helped found United Paradyne Corporation (UPC) in 1995 and retired as Chairman/CEO in 2004.

Longview's annual Go Fourth celebration is coming up soon. If you'll be in Longview July 2 through July 4, please stop by the Alumni's booth at the Lake. We'll have lots of cool things to buy (hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, pens, ...). We'll also raffle some of the goodies. Everything helps us support R.A. Long High School.

RAL Knowledge Bowl Earns State Honors

The 2010 / 2011 R.A. Long Knowledge Bowl team earned second place in the 2011 State Championship held March 26, 2011 in Richland. The Knowledge Bowl team finished ahead of local rival Mark Morris in the three team final. Key Club Recycles

The Daily News had featured a story on R.A. Long's Key Club. The Key Club has begun a recycling program at R.A. Long. According to the story, R.A. Long is one of the first schools to begin such an ambitious recycling program.

2011 Hall of Fame Induction

The 2011 R.A. Long High School Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Friday, March 18. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM and will be in the R.A. Long Auditorium. Note: This is a change from the previous Fall induction ceremonies. The date change is an experiment with the goal of avoiding conflict with inductee's holiday travel plans.
