Gym Floor Logo

Late in the 2004/2005 school year, some pipes broke in the R. A. Long Gymnasium (aka "The Lumberdome") ceiling and destroyed the original gym floor. The school district's insurance carrier paid for most of the costs associated with the replacement of the gym floor. One item that they did not pay for was the logo at center court.

When the 2005/2006 school year began, R. A. Long High School approached the Alumni Association with the story of the floor and the need to raise funds to pay for the replacement of the center court logo. The school also decided that it was time to update the logo with a more modern feel. The Board of the Association agreed to contribute towards the cost of the new logo. The R. A. Long Booster Club, the R. A. Long Associated Student Body, and others also contributed towards the approximately $7,500 replacement costs.

The new logo is displayed prominently on our web site and is also shown below.

The Alumni Association is proud to contribute to the "rich tradition" at R. A. Long High School.
