Teresa Forbes grew up in Longview. She was the middle child of 3 sisters.  She attended RA Long from 1983 to 1987.  Teresa participated in a multitude of many sports and activities.  Track and Field for four years;  in which she won an award for outstanding performance pentathlon. She also participated in the drill team for two and was an accomplished ballerina for thirteen years.  However, Swimming and Diving were her passion in which she excelled at.  She won numerous awards in the four years that she was involved.  Beginning her freshman year she won most valuable diver and undefeated diver awards. In addition to that she was Athlete of the Week. This was just the beginning of her exceptional diving and swimming career.  She went on to win these awards,  Senior year- Most Valuable and Coaches Award.  In November of 1986, Teresa won second in diving at the girls’ state AA meet at the University Of Washington. Her coach Bill Workman was quoted in The Daily News stating that “Teresa had placed highest of any girl from RA Long had ever placed in the State meet”. She received 6.5s and 7.0s out of the possible 10.  The crowd went wild.  Teresa’s diving career didn’t stop at high school.  She went on to Central Washington University where she continued with her swimming and diving, she lettered for three years. She received scholarships for her diving. She received a letterman’s jacket the 1st year, a plaque the 2nd year, and a college ring her 3rd year. In addition, she received most outstanding diver plaque award  and  a $500.00 scholarship diving/NAIA.  All American – one meter diving/ District I/II 3 meter 3rd place and 2nd meter 2nd place.  Teresa graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting.  She was also involved within the student body as the manager of the boys swimming and diving team for one year and the manager of girl’s basketball for one year.  Keeping up with her busy schedule, she still has had time to be involved in charity work for the  Kelso-Longview Elks #1482, Adopt-A-Street Program and performed in the Cabaret for three years.  Theresa currently resides in Kelso.
