Fred Moe was a member of the class of 1964 and while attending high school was active in many sports and activities.  He was a three year starter in football and baseball.  At the conclusion of his sophomore football season, he was selected to the All Conference Football Team, as a running back.  As a senior he was a starter and Tri-Captain of the basketball team.  Upon graduation, in 1964. Fred was awarded a scholarship to play football at WSU and he played as fullback for two years.  After the two years at WSU Fred transferred to Pacific Lutheran University and played football there for two more years.  He was named to the All Conference Football Team his senior year.  After graduating with a degree in Education Fred returned to Longview.  He taught middle school for thirty years, mostly at Monticello and coached a wide variety of sports while there.  Living in Longview with his family, Fred has been involved in the community in a variety of ways.  He coached little league baseball for eight years and youth basketball for 5 years.  Fred coached a Special Education Olympics softball team and they ended up as State Champions.  Fred has served on the Cowlitz County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board and was a Democratic election committee volunteer.  He and his wife Sharon have been married for 47 years and have 4 children 3 boys, Tim, Loran, Nathan and one daughter Julia.  They also have 10 grandchildren.
