Chris spent his three years at R.A. Long competing in track and cross country, he earned varsity letters in both sports all three years.  In his junior year, in track he was a league and district champion competing in the 1600m and 3200m and took 3rd at state in the 1600m.  His senior year he placed 2nd at state in the 1600m.  Chris holds R.A. Long records in both the 1600m and 3200m.  In cross country, he was a state competitor and a member of the District championship team.  Chris was voted MVP his senior year.  Chris went on to Azusa Pacific  University after high school.  While attending APU he was a three year track letterman competing in the 1600m and the 3200m.  He was a member of the APU NAIA National Champion Track team 1983 through 1986.  Chris was the APU Cross Country Team Captain 1985, Track and Field Team Captain 1986.  The team set the school record in the distance medley @ 9.04.  Chris earned his BA degree in 1986 in Business Administration while attending APU and later went on to earn a Masters Degree in Education from Portland State University in 1994.  Chris has been a teacher and Head Boys XC and distance Track Coach at Skyview High School since 1997.  During this time his boys XC teams have earned 7 League and 4 District Championships.  The boys and girls track teams have won 8 League and 8 District titles.  Chris has coached many athletes to the state finals in distance races.
