‘Charly’ was a three year letterman in both football and track and also lettered in varsity basketball one year. In track he made All Conference with a 50 foot plus shot put. He was a standout football player while attending R.A. Long, in 1964 he received the team Inspiration Award, team Defense Award and was named to the SWW All Star 2nd team. In 1965 while a member of the R.A. Long SWW Football League Conference Champion team, he again received the team Inspiration Award, was named to the SWW All Star 1st team as the All Conference linebacker and the All State 2nd team. In addition being active in sports at R.A. Long ‘Charly” also held the position of Senior class President. He went on to play football for Stanford University, in 1966 he played on the freshman team went on to play on the varsity team in 1967 and 1968. Charly went on to earn a BA degree in political science and currently owns his own business in Petaluma, California.
