C.D. in his own words admits that his passion has always been football, but growing up with older brothers who were accomplished boxers, his dad thought he should focus on boxing like his brothers.  He won both Silver and Golden glove tournaments in Oregon in 1971.  Once C.D. got to Monticello Jr. High School he was able to play football and participate in     wrestling and track.  At R.A. Long  he played football, participated in wrestling and played golf all three years.  C.D. was voted MVP of the football team, All Conference running back and Kiwanis’s MVP All-Star, his senior year.  He was team captain of the wrestling team and a State runner up his senior year.  C.D. culminated his senior year on the golf team as they were the District champions and he was a state tournament participant.  After high school C.D. went on to Central Washington University where he lettered all 4 years on the football team.  In 1981 he was co-captain of the football team and named an All-Star running back.  C.D. also turned out for wrestling at CWU, was a 4 year letterman, a two time All-American, team captain in 1981 and the team was 2nd at the National Tournament.  In 1983 he was team captain again and the team took 4th at the National Tournament.  C.D. lettered 3 years in golf at CWU, in 1982 the team won the Regional Championship and participated in the National Tournament.  C.D. graduated from Central Washington University in 1983 with a BA in education.  He was inducted into the CWU Sports Hall of Fame in 1996.  C.D. went on to coach football and wrestling at Moses Lake High School 1988 and 1989, the wrestling team was the State Champions in 1988.  C.D. and his beautiful wife of 30 years Kim, have three sons, Kyle, Sean and Cody, currently reside in Moses Lake, where he works in the field of insurance.
